Yerma, women on the cutting

Capaccio Scalo - As part of Mythos Festival. The soul of the place, an event being held in Paestum until Sunday, May 7, the Academy of Magna Grecia, Paestum brings to the stage "Yerma, women on the wire." The event is scheduled for Friday, May 4 to 21 in the park of Villa Salati, at the archaeological site of Paestum. Admission is free. The show is a remake of selected pieces from Yerma (with which the Academy has opened the theater season last October) to highlight the sense of and motherhood as two women, Yerma and Mary, live in a different way: to Mary is the realization of the natural path, while Yerma lives infertility. On stage there will be a greek chorus, with pregnant women, made by the students of Magna Graecia. The permanent company of actors are: Sarah Falanga (Yerma), Christian Miron (Juan), Angela De Matteo (Maria), Jennifer Marano (Dolores, a character half man, half woman, half-bird). Directed by Sarah Falanga. The students of the academy that make up the chorus are: Robert Bonora, Jose Luciano, Giulia Cennamo, Katherine Salerno, Giovanna Chirico, Vienna Noviello, Anne D'Ascoli, Viola D'Amaro, Sara Mazzaccara, Rowena Vece, Donato Cammarano, Arianna Casaburi, Daniela Della Pepa, Tania Rich. Music by Barbara Cola, which has also played Maria in October but this time will not be present if committed abroad. Yerma is the second of the three great tragedies of Garcia Lorca, ranking among the "Blood Wedding" of 1933 and "The House of Bernarda Alba" in 1936. After the poet in September 1933, was first performed on December 29, 1934 at the Teatro EspaƱol in Madrid.
